You are liable for loss or damage caused by your negligence, wilful misconduct, mishandling, mis-sorting/mislabelling, or failure to follow documented instructions, including loss or damage suffered by the hirer, the hirer’s business partners, or other third parties on site. Where EL Connect or the hirer pays or advances any amount for such loss or damage, you agree to reimburse the documented amounts not covered by insurance, subject to any applicable limits and deductibles.
3. Insurance (Applicable to Part-Time Job Listings only and not applicable to Gig Missions)
3.1 All freelancers will be automatically enrolled in Personal Accident insurance coverage to provide an additional layer of security and peace of mind while working.
3.2 The cost of coverage is $0.32 per hour and will be charged for the duration of your working period, including break time. This cost is rounded up to the nearest hour for incomplete hours.
Calculation Formula:
(Total Rounded Job Hours) x ($0.32) = Insurance Cost
Example Calculation:
Job starts from 9:05AM and end at 5:50PM = 8.75 hours (8hrs 45mins)
After rounding up = 9 hours
Insurance cost: 9 hours x $0.32 = $2.88

3.10 Insurance costs are non-refundable.
3.11 If EL Connect retracts payment based on hirer records after a job completed (e.g., freelancer goes missing in action or doesn’t complete their shift etc), the freelancer will still be responsible for the deducted insurance amount.

4. Job Application/Job Awarding/Actual Day Procedure
4.1 Freelancers can apply for multiple jobs, but once awarded a job, other overlapping applications will be automatically withdrawn. We encourage applying for multiple jobs to increase your chances of landing one.
4.2 You will receive your first notification (Awarded) via email and in-app notification when a job is awarded to you. You must acknowledge the awarded job to inform the hirer of your acceptance. You will also receive second and third notifications (reminders) to acknowledge 12 hours and 2 hours before the job starts.
4.3 Ensure accurate job time tracking by scanning the QR Code provided by the Site Supervisor for job start and completion. Contact the site supervisor to access the QR Code image as this determines your payment.
4.4 Additional attendance methods may be required by some hirers; please comply as needed.
5. Part Time Job Cancellation/Account Suspension
5.1 Freelancers should only apply for jobs they are genuinely interested in. If your interest changes, you should withdraw your application for a job before the job is awarded by the hirer. No penalty will be imposed in this case. Freelancers are encouraged to withdraw their applications in-app 'Job List', 'Part Time Jobs', 'Applied' section.
5.2 Freelancers will be responsible for a $30 last minute cancellation fee to EL Connect if you cancel an awarded job less than 15 hours from the job's start time, regardless of whether you acknowledged the job. No penalty applies if you cancel more than 15 hours before the job starts.
5.3 If a freelancer does not scan the EL Connect QR code to mark arrival, the job status will be marked as "No-Show", and a $30 penalty will be imposed automatically by the system.
5.4 Last-minute cancellations, no-shows, or absences regardless of whether they are with or without proof (e.g., Medical Certificate), will result as follows:
1st absence: $30 penalty.
2nd absence: Another $30 penalty and a 14 days account suspension. Freelancers are granted one suspension opportunity within EL Connect.
3rd absence: Another $30 penalty and account deactivation.
5.5 Freelancers seeking to waive off penalty fees shall submit relevant documentation, such as a medical certificate, through in-app ‘Support’ under ‘Submit Medical Certificate’. The document must be dated within the job cancellation period.
Note: Only medical certificates issued from a physical doctor visit will be accepted. Teleconsultation medical certificates will no longer be valid.
5.6 Freelancer accounts that accumulate 2 medical certificates within a month will be suspended for 14 days.
5.7 A non-refundable administrative fee of $100, payable via PayNow, is required for a one-time account reactivation. Subsequent violations of our terms of service may result in the user being blacklisted.
5.8 This Section applies only to Part-Time Job Listings. Gig Mission cancellations and penalties are governed under Clause 13.
6. Punctuality
6.1 Punctuality is essential. Freelancers are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early for all jobs to avoid any issues. Some hirers enforce a zero-tolerance policy for lateness, so it's essential to be on time. Being late, even if you are already onsite, can lead to rejection.
7. Failure to Complete Job/Extension
7.1 If a Freelancer abandons or fails to complete their duties, they may not be paid for the incomplete job. EL Connect will investigate and determine payment on a case-by-case basis, prorated if agreed upon by the hirer.
7.2 For extensions of working hours beyond the stipulated timeframe, the Client must offer the Freelancers and update them on the details and the extended hourly rate for acceptance.
8. Termination
8.1 EL Connect has the right, but not the obligation, to delete, terminate, or deactivate your account, block your email or IP address, or otherwise terminate your access to the Website or Mobile Application immediately and without notice for any reason, which may or may not be disclosed.
8.2 You agree to indemnify EL Connect, its officers, managers, members, affiliates, and others, and hold them harmless from any claims or demands arising from the termination. This includes claims or demands brought by third parties.
8.3 EL Connect reserves the right to act, including banning or blocking users from accessing our app and platforms, for engaging in spam calling or messaging, which disrupts our operations and service efficiency. Your account will also be terminated if you use disrespectful or abusive words or actions toward fellow freelancers, clients or EL Connect staff.
8.4 EL Connect reserves the right to suspend accounts for a period determined suitable in cases of MC submission or a Covid Positive situation, with the aim of preventing virus spread. To uphold the integrity of our Absence/Cancellation Policy, accounts will also be suspended for 14 days if more than 1 proof of cancellation/medical certificate are submitted within a month.
8.5 To maintain our service standards, if you are deemed unsuitable for a job by 2 or more unique hirers, your account will be terminated.
9. Wallet
9.1 Freelancers are compensated based on recorded minutes within EL Connect by default. While our system calculates earnings by the minute, some clients may require precise timekeeping. Manual adjustments, such as deductions for punctual clock-ins, may apply per hirers’ instructions. Please review job posts for details.
9.2 Scanning in early or out late, i.e. outside of the stipulated job hours will not be paid. We will honour the hours between the job’s start and end time only.
9.3 Payments are administered through an in-app Wallet system. After successfully completing a job, payments will be credited into the Freelancer's Wallet.
9.4 Freelancers are penalized for lateness, cancellations, and no-shows, with fees deducted from their Wallet if such incidents occur.
9.5 Any overpayment made to the Freelancer is also deducted from their Wallet. If the Wallet balance is insufficient for overpayment deduction, payment must be made to EL Connect Pte Ltd via PayNow or Bank Transfer.
9.6 EL Connect charges an administrative fee of $1.00 per approved payout request. This fee is a platform service and administrative fee associated with wallet management, payout verification, fraud prevention, reconciliation, and operational costs. This administrative fee is not a PayNow transaction charge but a platform service fee.
Note: Administrative fee of $1 will be waived until 30 June 2026.
9.7 EL Connect does not impose any surcharge for payments made via PayNow, and fully complies with the PayNow Merchant Charging Prohibition Rules issued by the Association of Banks in Singapore.
The platform administrative fee described in Clause 9.6 applies regardless of the underlying payout rail or settlement mechanism used, which may include, but is not limited to, internal settlement systems, FAST transfers, or other regulated payment infrastructure.
9.8 The minimum payout amount per transaction must be $30.00 or higher.
9.9 Payout requests submitted through the Wallet are not instant. All payout requests will be processed within 7 days (with Day 1 being the date of submission).
9.10 The processing time may vary and is subject to verification of attendance records, hirer confirmation, accuracy of the user’s account information, banking procedures, public holidays, and internal processing requirements.
9.11 Freelancers are fully responsible for ensuring that the payout method, such as PayNow or bank account details, is accurate. EL Connect is not liable for any payments made to incorrect accounts due to inaccurate information provided by the Freelancer. Any recovery of such payments is the sole responsibility of the Freelancer.
9.12 Gig Mission payments, refunds, penalties, and earnings will also be processed through the same Wallet system and are subject to the same payout timelines, verification processes, and administrative fees unless otherwise stated.

EL Connect reserves the right to suspend or deactivate accounts across both services based on overall user behaviour.
13.11 Any disputes arising from Gig Missions should first be resolved between the Mission Creator and Mission Hunter. EL Connect may, at its sole discretion, assist in mediation, but is not obligated to intervene. If EL Connect steps in to review or decide on a dispute, our decision will be final, based on available evidence and platform records, and must be accepted by all parties.
EL Connect reserves the right to determine the order and priority of dispute handling and is not obligated to act within a specific timeframe.
Acceptance of a Gig Mission constitutes a binding commitment by both Mission Creator and Mission Hunter to fulfil the agreed task. Once a Gig Mission is accepted and confirmed, cancellations by either party may result in penalties.
A “violation” includes but is not limited to misleading listings, non-delivery of agreed tasks, abusive conduct, or suspected fraudulent activity. EL Connect reserves the right to determine whether a report constitutes a valid violation.
A 10% penalty based on the agreed Mission Value will be charged to the cancelling party, and such fee will be retained by EL Connect.
Cancellation after acceptance may also result in account penalties, including an increase in cancellation count.
13.11.1 Dispute & Account Enforcement (Mission Creator)
First reported violation: Listing will be reviewed and may be removed
Second reported violation: EL Connect user account suspended for 14 days
Mission Creator active listings will be made inactive. Any Gig Missions or part-time jobs previously awarded to the Mission Creator may be automatically cancelled upon suspension.
Repeated violations: EL Connect user account termination
13.11.2 Cancellations & Penalties (Mission Creator and Mission Hunter)
Frequent cancellations/no-show rates will affect overall account status. EL Connect reserves the right to impose a higher penalty or take additional enforcement action in cases of repeated abuse, high-value transactions, or behaviour deemed detrimental to the platform.
Penalty Structure:
1st cancellation/absence: 10% penalty (based on Mission Value)
2nd cancellation/absence: 10% penalty (based on Mission Value) & 14 days account suspension
3rd cancellation/absence: 10% penalty (based on Mission Value) & account deactivation
13.11.3 If a Gig Mission is cancelled after the Mission Hunter has commenced work, any refund (if applicable) to the Mission Creator or payment (if applicable) to the Mission Hunter will be determined based on EL Connect’s review and dispute resolution process, considering the extent of work completed. For avoidance of doubt, any applicable cancellation penalties shall still apply regardless of whether work has commenced.
13.11.4 EL Connect does not guarantee the quality, legality, or suitability of any work performed. Mission Creators acknowledge that Gig Missions are completed by independent users.
13.12 Gig Mission payments will only be released to the Mission Hunter upon confirmation of task completion by the Mission Creator, or after a reasonable review period as determined by EL Connect. EL Connect reserves the right to withhold or delay payment in cases of disputes, suspected fraud, or incomplete tasks. EL Connect is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete information, disputes, system checks, or external payment processing factors.
All earnings will be credited to the in-app wallet used for Part-Time Jobs. Payouts follow Clause 9 (Wallet). The Mission Hunter is solely responsible for ensuring that their payout details (including PayNow or bank account information) are accurate and up to date. EL Connect shall not be liable for any delays or failed transactions arising from incorrect or incomplete payment information, disputes, or any external processing factors beyond its control.
All refunds, reversals, or credits due to the Mission Creator will be issued exclusively to the EL Connect in-app wallet, regardless of the original payment method used. Users agree not to initiate any chargeback or payment dispute with their payment provider for transactions made on the platform. In the event of any such chargeback, EL Connect reserves the right to suspend the user’s account and recover any losses incurred.
13.13 Without limiting the obligations under Clause 13.4 and any other provisions of these Terms, EL Connect reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user account immediately in the event of any breach of platform rules, including but not limited to circumvention of payment, misrepresentation, or fraudulent conduct.
